Kesha, formerly known as Ke$ha, once admitted in a 2011 deposition which was unsealed on Tuesday, October 21 that Dr. Luke never "roofied" her or forced himself on her. A lawyer for Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, successfully asked a New York state judge to unseal the deposition to be used in the current case.
According to New York Daily News, the deposition stemmed from a $14 million lawsuit brought by Kesha's former New York-based management company DAS Communications against her and Dr. Luke. The company said Kesha broke her contract when she left them in 2008 and that Dr. Luke "induced, intimidated and convinced" the singer to cut ties with them.
In the deposition obtained by the site, a DAS lawyer asked Kesha, "Did Dr. Luke ever give you a roofie?" The "Tik Tok" hitmaker replied, "No." The lawyer then continued, "Did you ever tell your mother that you woke up in a hotel room in Gottwald's bed and you don't recall what happened that night?" in which she answered, "I don't remember."
The lawyer also asked her about a flight she once took with Dr. Luke, saying, "If someone testified that you were making out with Gottwald on a cross-country trip with Gottwald, would that be a lie, on a plane?" The "We R Who We R" singer replied, "No."
In another portion of the deposition obtained by TMZ, the DAS lawyer asked Kesha, "Did you ever have an intimate relationship with Gottwald?" She said, "No."
After the deposition was unsealed, Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos told TMZ that using the deposition was "a pathetic attempt to once again blame the victim." He claimed that Kesha lied because "Luke walked Kesha down the beach and threatened to destroy Kesha's life and the lives of her family if she didn't cover up his sexual assaults."
