The 'Hercules' actor confirms his involvement in the adaptation of the classic TV series and teases that the movie will be edgy and raunchy.

"Baywatch" movie is moving forward by securing a lead actor. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson confirms his involvement in the project shortly after being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that he's "loosely attached" to star in the adaptation of the classic series starring David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.
The pro wrestler-turned-actor posted a picture of his topless self sitting on a jetski. "This is my beach b***h!" so he wrote. "Rumors are true... we're making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell. Cue slo mo running on the beach... #WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha."
The big screen version of the beach lifeguard series will be directed by Sean Anders and John Morris ("We're the Millers", "Horrible Bosses 2"). The most recent script is written by Justin Malen. It's unclear what the film might entail, but at one point it was rumored the movie would revolve around an oil rig explosion that turned out to be a meth lab.
The Rock was last seen on the big screen playing Hercules in the movie of the same name. He will next star in "San Andreas" and reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in "Fast and Furious 7". He is also linked to Warner Bros.' superhero movie "Shazam!".
