The Tonny-winning actor, who recently got married to his longtime partner David Burtka, talks about their Italian wedding during a visit to 'The View'.

AceShowbiz - Neil Patrick Harris has shared some stories from his recent wedding to David Burtka, saying that he got "choked up" during the intimate ceremony in front of their closest friends. The Tonny-winning actor revealed the details during his appearance on "The View" on Wednesday, September 17.
"We've been together over 10 years and I think when our kids got to the age they were having reasonable conversations, when they are asking lots of why questions, to have a clear-cut explanation of who their daddy is. I think it's great [to say], 'He's my husband,' " the "How I Met Your Mother" star said of the wedding which took place in a castle in Italy earlier this month.
Harris and Burtka's nuptials was only attended by 45 people including Elton John and and the pair's twin children played big parts in the ceremony. "We did a destination wedding so it kind of kept the numbers down. I just wanted to be able to say nice things about David, to David, in front of the people who matter most to us...a declaration to share in front of our kids," he shared.
"When you watch other people say their vows and they get all choked up you think, 'C'mon, pull it together, man!' " he explained. "Then when you're standing there and it's you and you have this piece of paper that's shaking...you can't help but just get super-duper choked up. I wasn't a crying mess or anything, but they're important words that need to be heard by the person that you're [marrying]...it was fun."
In other news, Harris has released a trailer to promote his upcoming autobiography "Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography". In the cute clip, he and his husband can be seen recreating "Lady and the Tramp" spaghetti scene where they eat the same noodle of spaghetti together until they end up kissing. The book is due out on October 14.
