Sean O'Haire, a former WCW and WWE wrestler turned hair stylist, has passed away of apparent suicide. TMZ reports that O'Haire was found dead at his home in South Carolina on Tuesday, September 9. He was 43.
According to local police, O'Haire committed suicide by hanging. His body was found by his father in his room with a red rope tied around his neck and connected to the bedpost.
WWE has released a statement following the sad news. "WWE extends its condolences to Sean Christopher Haire's family, friends and fans on his passing. Haire performed under the name 'Sean O'Haire,' and was under contract with WWE from 2001-2004," the organization said.
"RIP Sean, we will miss you man, thanks for the memories," pro-wrestler Marco Corleone wrote on Twitter. Lance Storm additionally said, "Very sad to hear of the death of Sean O'Haire #RIP."
The late pro-wrestler, born Sean Haire, made his debut at World Championship Wrestling in 2000. O'Haire and his partner Chuck Palumbo then continued with the WWE, debuting in 2001. O'Haire left the WWE in 2004 before retiring from professional wrestling in 2006 and became a hairstylist.
