BBC has dropped the first promo video for "Doctor Who" season 8 that will leave die-hard fans of the sci-fi series wanting more. The clip teases the 12th incarnation of the Doctor in action, showing a silhouette of Peter Capaldi's title character in what looks like the TARDIS.

A look at the new Doctor was previously unveiled in a photo featuring him in his costume, which consists of a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt as well as black Dr. Marten shoes. The actor described his character's style as "simple, stark, and back to basics."

Capaldi will be joined by another new face, Samuel Anderson, in the upcoming chapter, which is expected to premiere in the U.S. in late 2014 on BBC America. Anderson will play a recurring role as Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill Secondary School where Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald also teaches.

Filming for the eighth installment began in January and will continue until August.
