AceShowbiz - Sinister creatures invade the desert in "Monsters: Dark Continent" trailer. Noah, a haunted soldier with several tours under his belt, is sent on a mission to the infected zone in order to protect U.S. interests. With his unit and transport destroyed, he now has to struggle for survival deep in the monster territory.

The movie is a sequel to a 2010 movie titled "Monsters" which marked Gareth Edwards' first feature film which got him noticed by Hollywood. He created special effects using limited off-the-shelf equipment and worked with only five crew members besides the two main actors. He eventually landed a job to direct "Godzilla".

Edwards opted to serve as an executive producer for the sequel. Directed by relatively-unknown Tom Green, it stars Joe Dempsie, Johnny Harris, Sofia Boutella, and Kyle Soller. No U.S. release date is set for the "Dark Continent", but Edwards' first major project "Godzilla" is ready to storm theaters on May 16 in the country.
