AceShowbiz - First photos from Sundance Channel's miniseries "The Honourable Woman" land online as soon as the show began filming. Maggie Gyllenhaal gets the spotlight in both newly-released pictures as she takes the lead role.

On the spy thriller, the Mrs. Green of "Nanny McPhee Returns" plays Nessa Stein, the daughter of a Zionist arms procurer who as a child witnessed his assassination. As an adult, she inherits her father's company and dramatically inverts its purpose from supplying arms to laying high-spec data cabling networks between Israel and the West Bank.

"I couldn't put the scripts down. Nessa is such an exciting and intricate character," Gyllenhaal gushed about her character. Other stars supporting the show are Stephen Rea, Lindsay Duncan, Janet McTeer, Andrew Buchan, Katherine Parkinson, Eve Best, Lubna Azbal, Tobias Menzies, Genevieve O'Reilly and Yigal Naor.

The production kicked off August 14 in London. Besides the U.K., the miniseries will be filmed in location in Morocco and America. Written and directed by BAFTA winner Hugo Blick, it will air in 2014. Blick also executive produces it along with Greg Brenman and Abi Bach.
