First Look at Salma Hayek's Kitty in 'Puss in Boots'
Movie

The female cat is a new character to appear in the 'Shrek' spin-off which focuses on the Antonio Banderas' character.

AceShowbiz - Soon after unleashing "Shrek Forever After", DreamWorks is moving forward with its new project "Puss in Boots" which serves as a spin-off to "Shrek". The studio has just launched an official website in addition to presenting the first image from the movie.

Obtained by MovieWeb, the photo captures the titular character alongside Kitty. While Puss in Boots has appeared since the first "Shrek" film, Kitty is one of the new characters that will grace the upcoming animation. Salma Hayek has been tapped to voice the female cat which has black and white fur.

"Puss in Boots" will tell the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss' early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs. Antonio Banderas will still voice Puss with Zach Galifianakis slated to play Humpty.

Though it is a spin-off to "Shrek", the upcoming movie will not feature the original characters except Puss itself. Chris Miller directs it and teams up with Tom Wheeler to write the screenplay. DreamWorks eyes November 14, 2011 as the U.S. release date for the upcoming movie.
