"Ghost Whisperer" is officially dead. Post canceled by CBS following a streak of mild rating, the show starring Jennifer Love Hewitt was said to be considered by ABC. However, the latest news revealed that even the Alphabet is not interested to keep the show in business.

"After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce 'Ghost Whisperer' will not be returning for a sixth season," executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander said in a statement Thursday, May 27. "We've had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved."

They continued, "We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future." ABC Studios co-owns the show with CBS.

Just last week the show's star Jamie Kennedy revealed that there was still "life" in the programme after ABC chiefs expressed interest in picking it up. He said, "They are talking about it, so that's cool. We haven't exactly gone into the light, we haven't crossed over, but we've got some life."
