ABC has given a full five minutes of the season premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" and revealed a 'wow' moment toward the end. It all begins right where season 5 left off, when both Izzie and George are on the operating room, fighting for their lives.
While Izzie opens her eyes and survives the flatlining, George draws his last breath. However, one person is not convinced that the disfigured John Doe who died is George. Lexie sees a difference, judging from his feet.
Since T.R. Knight has announced his departure from the show, there could only be two possibilities. Either Lexie is mistaken or John Doe really is not George. If the latter is the case then Knight will be given another walk-out story arc which still involves his death. Promo pics have been released to capture George's funeral.
"Grey's Anatomy" returns with two-hour season premiere on Thursday, September 24. The first episode, "Good Mourning", follows the hospital staff as they are left to deal with the aftermath of George's passing. Hitting the staff hard, they all find unique ways to get through the various stages of grief.
