TV

The Dr. John Carter of 'ER' may be included in Steven Spielberg's new project for TNT about aliens invasion.

AceShowbiz -

Last month TNT announced during its upfront presentation that there will be a new TV series in sci-fi tone which is produced by Steven Spielberg. A casting news has just come up via EW that Noah Wyle, who was last seen on the season finale of "ER", will be one of the leads.

The series is about extra terrestrials invasion, taking place six months after the aliens decimated mankind. According to EW's source, Wyle would play "the leader of a ragtag group of citizens who try to bring down the aggressors." Should the report is true, then it will be a reunion between Wyle and Spielberg, since both were involved in the early years of "ER".

Not-yet-having a title, the sci-fi series is based on an idea projected by Spielberg. Robert Rodat who was nominated for Academy Award through his work in "Saving Private Ryan" is sitting as one of the writers.

No comment has been given by TNT concerning the casting news.
