First Look on Minutemen of 'Watchmen'

Though the superheroes movie is months away from its theatrical release in 2009, Warner Bros. Pictures have brought in a first look into the movie through the 1940's picture of Minutemen.

AceShowbiz - To those who wonder how the superheroes in "Watchmen" will look like, Warner Bros. Pictures have gotten a special treat delivered their ways with the release of a classic-looking photograph exposing the first avengers group formed in the "Watchmen" universe. Coming out on the net first via Ain't It Coll News, the picture shows the 1940's Minutemen.

The official first look into the Zack Snyder's movie reveals Silhouette, Mothman, Dollar Bill, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Silk Spectre, Hooded Justice and The Comedian. These are the first group of superheroes who laid the foundation for the movie because the film's storyline picks up with the newer incarnations of some of those old superheroes, including Silk Spectre portrayed by Carla Gugino, Mothman played by Niall Matter and Dollar Bill depicted by Dan Payne.

Coming from the man who brought "300" to the big screen, "Watchmen" is a comic book adaptation movie that is set in an alternate 1985 America where superheroes are part of everyday society. When his former superhero colleague, The Comedian, was murdered, Rorschach goes on a mission to investigate his death and uncover the plot to kill and discredit all other superheroes. But, as he goes on, he finds out a far more intricate conspiracy involving his colleagues' past which could completely change the course of history. Starred also by Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, "Watchmen" is coming to theaters on March 6, 2009.
