Mark Pellington is setting up a new directorial stint on the big screen. Variety reported that the Baltimore-born filmmaker has been tapped by Universal Pictures to helm its supernatural thriller flick, "Night and Day You Are the One" with Jon Bokenkamp penning the script.

Produced by Daniel Bobker and Ehren Kruger via their Universal-based company, the picture is an adaptation of Ken Kalfus' short story entitled "Thirst" which centers on a man who has to unravel truth from fantasy after witnessing a murder as he has difficulty to tell the difference between his dreams and reality.

Also known as video music director, Pellington initially built his path in entertainment industry through TV features before making his directorial feature debut "Going All the Way" (1997). His other past credits include "Arlington Road", "The Mothman Prophecies", and several episodes of CBS' crime drama series "Cold Case."
