the story is a bit slow to start, but once the elderly couple reveal their true motivations, the movie grows creepy and unsettling; The nastier the movie gets, the more fun it is to watch
the film is just a string of red herrings and nonsensical plot points meant to get across that just about everyone in this movie is somehow insane and mentally damaged; all it does is render "The Owners" one of the most repulsive films of the year
a few occurrences are admittedly a bit far-fetched. Still, the tension is consistent, the movie is visually interesting, and the performances from Maisie Williams and Sylvester McCoy are terrific. "The Owners" is a picture that keeps you guessing
"The Owners" proves a nasty, if not exactly credible, thriller; None of what transpires in "The Owners" makes any sense, but for a while at least, the veteran performers make it a wickedly fun ride
"The Owners" isn't trying to reinvent the wheel on home invasion thrillers, but there are hidden depths to its simple set-up that make this an excellent addition to the canon
