the new Chan movie, "The Foreigner," is more somber and violent than most of his earlier pictures. It's an action-heavy, English-language, Hong Kong-style drama

Chan saves the day... and this picture. In every action beat, the now-63-year-old star shows glimpses of the balletic action chops that made him a generational talent in the genre for so many years
Campbell keeps the action cooking and the suspense on a high burner in this compulsively watchable conspiracy thriller, while The Foreigner proves again is that Chan is the Man - now and forever
