though it'll likely leave some customers satisfied in its current form, it would be much easier to take as a series of very short, instantly forgettable episodes that pop up in one's stream unpredictably
the result is a movie that's loud and annoying more than truly provocative, peppered with pop-culture references that prove cleverer than its rewrite of US history
the jokes don't always land (some of them are way too reliant on inventions that don't exist yet), but an abundance of ludicrous, violent, raunchy imagination sparks a revolution worth watching
the concept is promising, and the violent delirium of the movie's visuals show that this could have been a fun, adrenaline-fueled romp. Instead, it's just an unfunny comedy that leaves a bad taste in one's mouth
overall, for fans of this kind of dumb/smart, dry, satirical parodic humor, the chaotic energy and total absurdity of America: The Motion Picture carry it through, and provide some much-needed levity in these uncertain times
Netflix's "America: The Motion Picture" is immediately insufferable. It is obnoxious, overlong, annoying and, above all, deeply unfunny for an ambitious, animated comedy/sci-fi film
everything that follows is just as violent, anachronistic and ridiculous, not to mention funny; Many have tried to rewrite America's history in previous years, decades and even centuries; at least this film is honest - and at times, hilarious - about it
even when you think it's only acting rude and juvenile just because, it's much smarter than that, particularly whenever it skewers American attitudes (both conservative and liberal)
a 90-minute pop-culture casserole reworking of 1776 that has too much energy and not enough imagination; Most of the time, it's knowingly stupid, which makes watching it 90 minutes of occasional fun and frequent indifference
