Jaiying collapses to the ground after having shot herself. It's all part of her plan to instigate a war with S.H.I.E.L.D. Skye can't believe what's happening as a QuinJet fires on areas where Afterlife civilians are seen. She has no idea the aircraft was hijacked in order to further her mother's plan. May wants Skye to help her fix the situation. That's not going to happen. The two agents get into a brutal fistfight. Skye is losing the battle until she uses her powers. She forcefully lets May know that she's not welcome there.

Raina tells Skye that her mother isn't leading the people of Afterlife. She's "misleading" them. Speaking of Jaiying, she kills the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Gordon kidnapped in order to heal her wounds. She asks Skye to stand by her side in the fight against their enemy. She hands her the gift Gonzales gave to her. Skye is to return it if she wants to join her.

Hunter is bouncing off the walls wondering what's happened to Bobbi. He and Fitz realize Agent 33 is behind her disappearance. Hunter and May are off to find Bobbi, who is bracing to be tortured. Ward claims this is all being done to help Agent 33 heal. Bobbi tries to get into Ward's head. She ultimately finds enough of an opening to escape from her bindings. A mighty slugfest takes place. Bobbi is ultimately outnumbered, but Agent 33 can't pull the trigger on killing her.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. powers-that-be give Coulson three hours to try to fix things before they move on to more aggressive actions. Simmons says their prisoner, Cal, consumed vials of a liquid that may have been an ill-conceived attempt at super strength. The side effects are killing him. Cal admits that he's there to take out as many S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as he can. He suffers from heart failure. Simmons is able to revive him. Angered Cal rises up looking to destroy anything in his path. Fortunately, Coulson is able to pin him against a wall with a car.

Raina tells Jaiying that the only person who can save the Inhumans is Skye. She wants to expose her for what she truly is. Jaiying can't let that happen. She kills Raina having no idea that her daughter was watching the whole time. Skye finally sees the truth about her mother. So Jaiying has her knocked unconscious.

Ward is determined to make Bobbi pay for what she did to Agent 33. He sets a trap for Hunter, who is on his way with May to save the day. There's a rifle triggered to kill the first person who comes through the door where Bobbi is being held. She's helpless to do anything to stop this from happening.

Gordon and a few other Inhumans sneak onto the S.H.I.E.L.D. HeliCarrier. Mack, who has delayed his departure from his agent duties, catches sight of the intruders. Gordon infiltrates the room where the shape-shifting secret alien substance that was recovered from a dig site a hundred years ago resides. He takes down the guards with a little help from his friends, one of whom can clone herself. Mack is the last man standing down below. He's in hiding when Jaiying arrives ready to begin her plan.
