The sun shines brightly in Cedar Cove as Olivia and Grace sit together drinking tea. When the phone rings, Olivia knows it's Jack calling but she refuses to answer. The sting from having discovered Jack drinking again is still too much to bear and Oliva's feelings are anything but sure.

Later in the night Justine and Luke sit on a blanket, stargazing. They share a kiss and Luke reveals that he's the happiest he's been in a long time. Justine also has a new outlook on life. She's about to register for classes and start looking for a job. And, unbeknownst to Olivia, Justine is also planning to move out of her mom's house.

Facing a less obvious future, Eric regains consciousness in unfamiliar and uncomforting surroundings. Last seen getting into Dick Turnbill's car, Eric now finds himself tied up in a dark and seemingly abandoned warehouse. As he struggles to get his bearings, a loud crash startles him. Eric looks up to see federal agents rushing in with weapons drawn. Alongside the agents, Eric sees Rebecca. She immediately spots Eric and immediately calls Jack with the news. Eric is taken into custody and later, with Rebecca sitting alongside him, he prepares to sign his statement. As he does he sees Dick Turnbull being brought into the office in handcuffs.

Conspicuously absent from the police roundup is Warren Saget. While his former business associates talk to investigators, Warren sits in a hotel room sipping champagne and talking on the phone. In true Warren Saget style he confidently asserts that he'll be back in Cedar Cove, returning to business as usual. However upon returning to Cedar Cove, Warren is immediately confronted by Eric. The two argue and Eric accuses Warren of nearly getting him killed. Warren shoots back that it was Dick's fault and that Eric was just a patsy. Warren then fires Eric, telling him, "The first rule of business is to trust no one." His words will be more prophetic than he can ever imagine.

Out at Cliff's ranch, Grace arrives to talk about Alex. Cliff insists there's nothing going on between him and Alex - she is just an employee. Cliff tells Grace that she's the only one for him, then drops to his knee and proposes. Grace is taken aback and unsure what to say. Later, Cliff addresses Alex in the barn. He wants to clear the air and make sure she understands that that Grace is the woman for him. Alex understands and tells Cliff that she plans to finish out the week and then move on. Cliff asks her to stay, but Alex knows that she needs some time away from him.

Fresh off his encounter with Eric, Warren makes his way into his office. As he does, he sees a strange man sitting at his desk. Upon seeing the man's face Warren's confusion turns to almost fear. The gentleman is Buck Saget, Warren's father. Buck tells Warren that as the majority stockholder, he is taking over Saget Company until this mess with Eric and Dick Turnbill is cleared up. Buck tells Warren that he has never been trustworthy, and warns his son not to go to war with him.

At lunch later in the day, Grace sits down with Olivia to share her own explosive news. Grace tells her the news of Cliff's proposal and shows Olivia the ring, which she is not yet wearing. Grace confides that she is not quite ready, and that when Cliff sees it on her hand he will know that it is time to set a date.

At Moon's, Peggy and Moon discuss a big fundraiser at the beach for the local fisherman. Peggy wants Moon to sponsor it and to donate the food, decorations and servers. The fundraiser is going to take a lot of money and work, but Peggy reminds Moon that it's is a good cause. Peggy's pleading pays off and Moon agrees to sponsor the event.

Later that evening, Warren tries again to plead his case to his father. Warren asks Buck to let him do what he does best as president of the company. Buck is not budging. At an impasse, the father and son are headed to court where Olivia will decide. Unfortunately for Warren, he's not the businessman his father is, and he is easily defeated in the courtroom.

At Moon's, Cedar Cove newcomers Linnette and her dad Roy are having coffee and are discussing Linnette's new job as a physician's assistant. Bob drops in and congratulates her on the new position. Linnette is also going to be renting a house with Rebecca and they need to find a third to help with the rent. As she heads out to search for a potential roommate, Linnette bumps into Justine. This fortuitous encounter provides the perfect opportunity for Linnette to give Justine a flyer about the room.

On his way to see Olivia, Jack runs into Bob. It's apparent that Jack needs to tell him something, but Jack brushes him off. This is the first time Jack will face Olivia to apologize for the drinking and lying. When Jack makes it to her office he finds that Olivia is still devastated, and she cannot forgive him - at least not yet.

At the library, Bob stops by with a snack by for Grace. Bob hopes Grace will be Cedar Cove's town manager when the current town manager retires. Grace is noncommittal, but agrees to consider the job. At the courthouse, Grace shares her news about the new opportunity and Olivia thinks it is a great idea.

Back in Cedar Cove, Alex bumps into Jack outside Moon's. As they make small talk Alex reveals she once worked on Wall Street before giving it all up for an easier life. The story piques Jack's interest and he offers to buy her a coffee and listen to more. Alex's credentials also pique the interest of Buck Saget, who overhears a portion of her story at Moon's. Buck introduces himself and the two sit down to talk about her skills.

At Jack's house, Eric is recovering from his ordeal. While there, he gets a visit from Shelly. Shelly is in Cedar Cove to tell Eric that she has a great new job opportunity in Oklahoma. She wants Eric to sign papers so that she can take Adele out of state. She knows that Eric was involved in some shady business dealings and Jack is drinking again. Eric is horrified that Shelly wants to take Adele away. Later, Jack returns home and Eric confronts him about his drinking. Jack tells Eric that he slipped up but that it is all over now. Eric tells him that Shelly will use that information to get full custody of Adele. This news prompts Jack to confront Shelly about using his slipup against Eric. Shelly tells him that Eric should do what is best for Adele and let Shelly take her to Oklahoma. Jack then tells Eric that Shelly won't budge and that Eric will need to compromise. Jack tells his Eric to put Adele first and to be the great father he knows Eric can be. Eric meets Shelly down by the dock and tells her that he will sign the papers, but that he is going to Oklahoma too. Eric's decided he wants to be the father that he never had.

Later Luke brings Justine by the boat to drop off some paperwork. Justine knows Luke's new boss Derek - he is Seth's best friend. When Derek sees Justine he tells them both to leave and tells Luke that there is no way he will hire him. Justine apologizes to Luke about the job and visits Derek separately to try to make it right. Derek is at first resistant, but relents and agrees to hire Luke on a probationary basis. The news thrills Luke, who is grateful for the opportunity.

Back in town, Grace is taking up her new position as town manager when Norman, the former town manager comes by. Norman brings some important news to Grace; he has not retired! Confused, Grace meets up with Bob who confides in her that Norman has been terrible at the job, and that he wants Grace to convince him to leave. Later, Grace sits down with Norman who reveals that the job is saving his marriage by keeping him occupied. Grace heads to the Thyme and Tide to talk to Bob about Norman. They work out a solution. Bob now has a new position for Norman as the Thyme and Tide concierge and Norman agrees to relinquish his job as the town manager.

Jeri reveals that she was promoted to senior editor and is now Jack's boss. She hands Jack a glass of champagne, which he sets down on the table. They talk about Jack's sobriety and his job, that's just gotten more complicated. Back in Cedar Cove, Jack visits Bob and tells him that Jeri is his new boss. Jack wants to stay at his job even though it means working for his ex-wife. Bob encourages Jack to talk to Olivia and not to let too much time go by.

In the courthouse, Rebecca pulls Olivia aside to talk about her new boss, DA Paul Watson. Rebecca is nervous that Paul may fire her. Olivia reassures her that she will do just fine and not to worry. In Olivia's chambers, Paul introduces himself. Olivia had run into him earlier while he was out biking. At the time she had no idea who he was but she knew immediately that he was new to Cedar Cove.

Later, Paul and Olivia head out of the courthouse for a working lunch. As they leave Jack walks up and Olivia introduces the two men to each other. Jack tells Olivia that he really needs to talk to her, but she is still not ready and simply walks away with Paul in tow. Later, Paul deduces that Jack and Olivia are involved. The conversation reveals to Olivia that Paul has had a similar situation in his past. The two move on from personal relationships to talking about Rebecca. Olivia wants Paul to give the ADA a fair shot but he is doubtful that it will work out. Later Paul fills in Olivia a bit more about his history, including his recent divorce. He also tells her that he is going to fire Rebecca. Olivia does some research on Paul's background, and is able to sway Paul about his decision to fire Rebecca. The DA agrees to give his assistant a second chance and Olivia is relieved.

At his cafe, Moon and Peggy are at an impasse over the fundraiser. Peggy continues to rack up expenses and, making matters worse, Peggy is auditioning a band that Moon says is terrible. The argument gets tense and Peggy storms out of the cafe.

At the Thyme and Tide Peggy, frustrated with Moon, gets Bob on board to help start preparing the food for the fundraiser. Warren is floored and confronts Buck about the decision, but he won't back down.

At the docks, Peggy and Moon's fundraiser is a hit and everyone has a great time. Hurt feelings are put aside and Peggy and Moon happily work together.
