The contestants are called into a room to participate in a Childhood Obesity Trivia Quiz. They're divided into teams and given a series of multiple-choice questions dealing with childhood obesity statistics. The losing team receives a steep punishment; they'll be locked in a room full of junk food for four-and-a-half hours every day this week.

The teams are neck and neck for a while, but eventually the Red Team pulls ahead, leaving the White and Blue Teams tied for the loser's spot. Alison delivers a final sudden death question that the White Team gets correct, which means that the Blue Team loses the challenge. For the rest of the week, they must spend four-and-a-half hours each day locked in the junk food room, and their first day starts right now.

The Red and White Teams head to the gym for their workout while the Blue Team is locked in the junk food room. Bob shows up shortly after and realizes that something is up when his team is not in the gym. Jillian and Dolvett break the news to Bob that the Blue Team has lost the challenge. Rather than being upset, Bob sees the daily imprisonment as a unique challenge. He also torments Jillian for being dramatic.

Meanwhile, the White and Red Teams get to work in the gym. It's week three, and many of the contestants are beginning to hit their stride. Cate started off rough, but now she feels like she's getting into a healthy workout routine and actually enjoying the exercise. Dolvett tells Cate that she's on the right track.

Minutes into their stay in the junk food room, Alex pours orange juice over all the snacks. None of the Blue Team members were tempted by the tasty treats, but it's a good precautionary measure just in case. Bob stops by for a visit and tells his team that they'll have to work extra hard this week to overcome the setback from losing the trivia game.

Jillian is working with Pam and Danni when Francy, from the Red Team, comes in for an extra workout. Jillian invites Francy to join them in the workout. In talking to Francy, she discovers the source of Francy's weight problem: she has a complicated past with her father that eventually caused her to turn to food. Jillian tries to help Francy work through the feelings, telling her that a healthy body needs a healthy mind to sustain itself.

Being healthy on the ranch is one thing, but the Biggest Loser kids must also learn to change their habits at home in order to lead healthier lifestyles. That's why the Biggest Loser's child obesity specialist, Dr. Joanna, is paying the kids a visit at their homes. Dr. Joanna meets with Biingo, Lindsey and Sunny to analyze their at-home habits and suggest improvements to help them in their weight-loss journeys.

Dr. Joanna methodically raids each of the kids' kitchens. She throws out all the candy, cake, cookies and junk food in the house and explains to the kids that while sweets are okay sometimes, they're best left outside of the house. She offers nutritional advice to the kids and their families in hopes of creating a healthier home environment for the children to thrive in.

The Blue Team has decided to meet with Bob for their daily workout after their four-and-a-half hour daily confinement in the junk food room. After all that time sitting around doing nothing, they're feeling sluggish and tired, but they know they'll have to work extra hard to knock off the pounds this week. Bob pushes them extra hard in the outdoor gym. It's tough, but the Blue Team knows they need all the help they can get.

Next, it's time for the weekly challenge! This week, the contestants must run a relay race in a carnival-themed challenge arena. The object is to wade through a pond of bubble gum goo, retrieve a 10-pound gum ball from a giant gum ball machine, and run the gum ball back to the other side of the bubble gum pond. They'll have to move 20 balls, so the challenge takes a lot of work.

Since there are only two White Team members, Pam and Danni are split up between the Red and Blue Teams, so that there are two teams competing. For a while the competition is neck and neck, but eventually the Red Team breaks ahead to win the challenge. Each team member receives one year of free groceries, and the contestants have a little fun in the goo ponds before heading back to the ranch.

The following morning, the Red and White Teams hit the gym in full-force. The Red Team is working hard and feeling great. Jillian joins the White Team in the outdoor gym area. Last week, Jillian and Pam got into a shouting match because Pam couldn't find the power to push through the workout, and Jillian became frustrated. This week, it's more of the same. Pam hits a wall in her workout that she just can't seem to break through, and Jillian becomes frustrated again.

On their last day imprisoned in the junk food room, Bob meets with his team. He's decided that this week's Last Chance Workout will take place in the room. Bob assigns a different exercise to each suit in a deck of cards and makes the Blue Team perform each card in the deck. It's a brutal workout, and the contestants are happy to leave the room when their time is up.

That evening, it's time for the weigh-ins. The teams gather in the weigh-in room and the Blue Team takes to the scale first. Jeff dropped 11 pounds, Alex dropped four pounds, David dropped six pounds, Michael dropped 13 pounds and Gina lost eight pounds. The Blue Team pulled some huge numbers this week, and they'll be tough to beat.

Now it's the Red Team's turn to hit the scale. Francy dropped five pounds this week, Joe lost nine pounds, and Jackson, Cate and Lisa each lost two pounds. The Red Team is not too pleased with their numbers, and if the White Team's Pam and Danni pull in even moderate losses, the Red Team could see one of their team members on the chopping block.

Next, it's the White Team's turn to weigh in. Pam and Danni are nervous. Danni takes to the scale first, and she shows a six-pound loss. Pam hits the scale next. Pam has had a tough week, and she's not confident that she'll have the loss she needs to keep the White Team safe for another week. The scale ticks to a nine-pound loss for Pam. She's ecstatic, and the White Team is safe this week. That means the Red Team is losing a member this week.

Because the last two weeks were auto-eliminations, this is the first week that the team members must vote one of their members off. Joe lost the most weight this week, so he's safe. One by one, the team's members head to the voting room to decide which member they're sending home. The votes are tallied, and Cate is headed home.
