In a deeply candid Instagram post, Chrissy Teigen shares her ongoing battle with fear and mental health, illustrating how a simple log crossing became a metaphor for her larger struggles.

AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen's openness about her mental health journey has once again struck a chord with many. On Thursday, May 23, the 38-year-old model and cookbook author took to Instagram to share a personal revelation during an obstacle course, reflecting on her progress and ongoing challenges.

In her post, Teigen recounted attempting a log crossing a few years ago when she was "struggling mentally," a period some believed may have been exacerbated by the traumatic pregnancy loss of her son, Jack, in 2020.

She remarked on the extreme difficulty of the task back then, describing how her "feet felt like they were 1,000 pounds each" and how her body tensed to the point of feeling like she had been in "a car crash." Despite not having a fear of heights, she found herself battling physical pain in her arms, neck, and feet, taking close to 40 minutes to complete the log crossing.

Teigen had hoped that her recent attempt at the course would be easier, given the passage of time and her efforts to cope with her mental struggles. "While I still struggle mentally, I thought I could make the pain go away by relaxing my body, breathing, and just taking in and enjoying what I was doing," she wrote.

However, she was met with a "plot twist," finding the challenge equally difficult. This realization was both surprising and enlightening for her.

Her "rational mind" knew that it would be "totally fine to just fall" because she would be "gently lowered down." Yet, Teigen acknowledged a deeper fear at play, "I am so terrified to fall again in life that it becomes overwhelmingly debilitating both mentally and physically."

This pervasive fear has led her to live a life marked by anxiety, where she doesn't "enjoy much outside [her] family, [her] few friends, television, and crafts." "I now live my whole life so scared," she said, describing herself as a "shrunken version" of what she knows she is meant to be and grappling with the fear of disappointing her fans and fighting an internal battle with things she wants to say but feels too afraid to express.

Despite these challenges, Teigen remains committed to personal growth. "I will continue to work on it all and try to balance my brain with rational thoughts, and try to be kind to myself and my body and mind," she shared, adding a heartfelt hope that one day she will "shed some fear and accept that I will never be perfect... and that is okay!!"

Her husband, John Legend, showed his unwavering support by simply commenting, "I love you."

Since the tragic loss of baby Jack, the couple has welcomed two more children, Esti and Wren, and already have two older children, Luna and Miles. Teigen observes that while Luna and Miles are competitive with each other, they are very loving towards the babies.

Teigen's message is a poignant reminder of the continual battle many face with mental health and the courage it takes to confront those fears openly.
