According to his spokesperson, the stand-up comedian is currently getting treated at a hospital in Las Vegas after he is diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma cancer.

AceShowbiz - Louie Anderson has been hospitalized. The iconic comedian, who starred as Christine Baskets on "Baskets", is "resting comfortably" amid his treatment for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma cancer.

"Iconic comedian Louie Anderson is currently in a Las Vegas hospital being treated for Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a form of cancer," so said the 68-year-old stand-up comedian's representative, Glenn Schwartz, in a statement to Rolling Stone. "He is resting comfortably," added Glenn of the beloved comic, who received three Emmy nominations and one win for his role as on the Zach Galifianakis-created comedy "Baskets".

Last May, Louie revealed that he'd been taking steps to address his lifelong weight struggle and had lost 40 pounds due to intermittent fasting. "I took it very serious. I got a trainer. I worked out. I swam. This has been a lifelong struggle for me, food addiction," the funnyman said in an interview with "Daily Blast Live".

"I learned a lot and feel good," Louie added. The comic, who was most recently seen in "Coming 2 America", went on admitting, "I'm no longer compulsively eating like I was and that was the big thing for me."

Two months earlier, Louie shared that he "started the pandemic at about 370 or 380 pounds," before joking, "depending on what I was leaning on." He further told host Conan O'Brien during his appearance on "CONAN" in March, "And now I'm 340. I'm trying to get 275 so I can get into some of my mom's actual clothes," referring to his female character on "Baskets".

Louie, who underwent two heart procedures to correct what was described as "an unspecified heart problem," first talked about losing weight for his health in 2018 during his appearance on "The Doctors". He said at the time, "My goal now in my life is to be healthier and happier and to try to pass on everything I got from that situation to other people."
