'The Voice' Recap: A Contestant Makes History in Semi-Finals of Season 21

In a new episode of the long-running NBC singing competition, the Top 8 take the stage to perform in front of the coaches, Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande.

AceShowbiz - "The Voice" entered the Semi-Finals of season 21 on Monday, December 6. The episode saw the Top 8 performing in front of the coaches, Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande. Blake led with three artists, John and Kelly had two singers apiece, while Ariana had a duo on her team.

In the episode, the contestants performed one solo performance and a '90s duet with another artist. Only five of them advanced to next week's Finals. Kicking off the night was Jim & Sasha Allen from Team Ariana. They sang "Mrs. Robinson" and Ariana loved it. John also noted that they were so at ease and looked like they had fun.

Jershika from Team John followed it up with a performance of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me". Blake said that she proved that she deserved to be saved last week during Instant Save. Ariana said it was stunning and incredible, while Kelly and John said it was Grammy-worthy.

Later, Team Blake's Wendy Moten and Paris Winningham offered the first duet with a performance of "Change the World". Lana Scott then took the stage to sing "Something in the Water" and Blake said it was by far her best performance of the season.

Team Kelly's Hailey Mia hit the stage to perform "Someone You Loved". Kelly believed that she would be in the Finals, while Ariana praised Hailey for getting better and better every week.

For the next duet, Jim & Sasha teamed up with Lana for "Hold My Hand". Later, Jershika and Joshua Vacanti offered a fun performance of "Hand in My Pocket". Wendy then took to the stage to sing "You're All I Need to Get By" which she dedicated to her husband for being her partner throughout their careers. All the coaches gave her a well-deserved standing ovation with Blake claiming that it was "music history."

Rounding out the night were Hailey and Girl Named Tom. They joined forces for the last duet, singing "Hold On". The singers appeared to look like that they're having fun on the stage.

The results of the performances will be revealed in the Tuesday, December 7 episode.
