Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) gets caught up in 'really weird s**t' as Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) prepares for a war between Old and New Gods.

AceShowbiz - Starz hypes up the upcoming premiere of its "American Gods" adaptation by releasing a new trailer. The new promo is gorier than the one debuted during San Diego Comic-Con 2016 as it previews some graphic violence and bloody scenes.

The new trailer highlights ex-con Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) who gets caught up in "really weird s**t" as he becomes bodyguard for Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), who prepares for a war between Old and New Gods. "It will be glorious win or lose," someone says in voiceover.

Based on Neil Gaiman's Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel, "American Gods" pits Old Gods against New Gods, with the ancient mythological ones fearing irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology and celebrity offered by the younger deities.

The cast also includes Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Gillian Anderson as Media, Bruce Langley as the Technical Boy, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Jonathan Tucker as Low Key Lyesmith, Peter Stormare as Czernobog, Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis, Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya, and Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy.

From Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, the fantasy drama series is set to bow on Sunday, April 30 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on Starz. David Slade directs the pilot and additional episodes.
