AceShowbiz - Dwayne "%cThe Rock%" Johnson seems to be the busiest star on the planet. The 44-year-old former wrestler's packed schedule is reportedly the reason behind the extended delay of the production on Paramount Pictures and Hasbro's "G.I. Joe 3".
LRM recently talked to actor %cLee Byung Hun% at TIFF about whether or not the studio was going to move forward with the follow-up to "G.I. Joe: Retaliation". "I heard from the studio that there's a possibility to do the third one," the Storm Shadow depicter said. "But I think they're waiting for the actors' schedules. They're arranging the schedules for the actors, especially Dwayne Johnson."
It makes sense that the studio will have to wait to bring back The Rock as Roadblock in the third "G.I. Joe" film. Since "Retaliation" was released in 2013, the former wrestler has appeared in two successful sequels to "Fast Five", portrayed Hercules, starred in "San Andreas" and even kicked some butt with %cKevin Hart% in "Central Intelligence". The world's highest paid actor has also been starring on HBO's "Ballers".
Before The Rock has time to work on "G.I. Joe 3", he still has to finish many films he has already been attached to. He is on post-production of "Moana", "Baywatch" and "Fast and Furious 8", and currently shooting his part in "Jumanji". Sometime afterwards, he takes the role of Black Adam in "Shazam". Therefore, it will likely take some time for Paramount to have The Rock clear his schedule.
Meanwhile, Byung Hun will appear in "The Magnificent Seven" along with %cDenzel Washington%, %cChris Pratt%, %cEthan Hawke%, %cVincent D'Onofrio%, %cManuel Garcia-Ruflo% and %cMartin Sensemeier%. The 46-year-old Korean-born actor first appeared as Storm Shadow in 2009's "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" and starred in 2015's "Terminator Genisys" alongside %cEmilia Clarke% and %cArnold Schwarzenegger%.
