A.J. Edwards lets it slip that one of the upcoming solo 'Star Wars' movies will focus on the character who was made famous by Samuel L. Jackson.

AceShowbiz - A.J. Edwards reveals negotiations with Disney to direct a "Star Wars" spin-off that will give depth to the Jedi Master originally played by Samuel L. Jackson. "Talking about it, not able to say a lot yet. It will focus on Mace Windu," he spilled on Reddit AMA.

A.J. is expected to join Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla") and Josh Trank "Chronicle" who already landed the jobs to direct spin-offs. The movies will arrive after J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on December 18, 2015.

The original trio, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, are all back as Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker respectively for the seventh installment. It's unclear if Jackson will follow his "Star Wars" castmates to reprise his role in the Mace Windu film, but the Nick Fury of Marvel Cinematic Universe has expressed his interest to wield lightsaber again.

"Okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu," he once said. "I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die."
