Styles wins British Style Award at the 2013 British Fashion Awards, nabbing the award from other competitors such as David Beckham and the Duchess of Cambridge.

AceShowbiz - Harry Styles has received British Style Award thanks to his fashion sense. The One Direction heartthrob received the prestigious award on Monday, December 2 at the 2013 British Style Award in London after beating other competitors such as David Beckham, Kate Moss, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Cara Delevingne.

The boybander received the award from model and TV personality Alexa Chung. The award goes to "an individual who most embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital."

Styles, who wore all-black shirt, blazer and pants, gave short speech to thank fans who voted for him, according to Grazia Daily. "Thank you for voting, this is very, very kind. Thank you for having me here, I really appreciate it. Thank you," he said. Chung made a joke about being snubbed from this year's nomination. "I actually didn't think anyone was allowed to win apart from Alexa," Styles added.

"Harry took pride of place between Primrose Hill queen and award recipient Kate Moss and designer Donatella Versace. All eyes were on him as he worked the room with air kisses for the great and good of the fashion world," an insider told Daily Mail. "His popularity is clearly not limited to teenage girls as fashionistas flocked to have their picture taken with him."

Model of The Year award, meanwhile, went to Edie Campbell. Gwyneth Paltrow presented International Designer of the Year to Miuccia Prada at the event, while Marc Jacobs awarded Kate Moss with the Special Recognition Award for her longtime career and influence in the fashion world. In addition, Burberry claimed Brand of the Year that night.
