AceShowbiz - It takes less than a year for Leighton Meester and Adam Brody to take it to the next level. The lovebirds, who began dating earlier this year, are engaged to be married, People has confirmed.
Meester and Brody began hanging out after filming "The Oranges" together in 2011. They have been keeping the relationship a hush hush but were spotted snuggling several times while out and about. In February this year, the couple had an early dinner in Venice, California with a pal and left with his arm around her.
It will be the first marriage for both. Meester previously dated Sebastian Stan and split from him in 2010. "I was really sad when it ended, but that's what taught me a lot about myself and love and life - and that's good," she said about the hard breakup. She went on dating actor Aaron Himelstein before calling it quits in 2012.
Meanwhile, Brody had a long term relationship with actress Rachel Bilson before ending it in 2006. He later dated director and screenwriter Lorene Scafaria back in 2010.
The "Gossip Girl" and former "The O.C." alum are attached to co-star in comedy "Life Partners".
