AceShowbiz - Kirstie Alley has heard about people criticizing Lady GaGa over her fuller figure. As a someone who has been in a similar situation with the Mother Monster, the former "Fat Actress" star feels for the outlandish singer.

"Most of my career I was pretty lean, so when I gained the weight, obviously people [noticed]," Alley tells PEOPLE. "With [Lady GaGa], she gains [25] pounds and it becomes this huge thing," the 61-year-old actress continues.

"It's Hollywood that is obsessed with weight," she continues voicing her thoughts on the matter. "I think everyone should try to be healthy. Lean is better than not lean, but I think we send a horrible message to the world, especially to girls."

Commenting on the amount GaGa gained, Alley says, "She was so freaking skinny that [25] pounds would make her a what, size 2? There's an insanity here. I know it's a pressure on her. I know it is. It's really hard to play that game."

GaGa herself said she's fighting body-image issue since she was teen. She thanked her boyfriend Taylor Kinney for helping her embrace her insecurities. "My boyfriend prefers me curvier, when I eat and am healthy and not so worried about my looks, I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been," she once said.
