'I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,' Noel Gallagher says of his departure from Oasis.

AceShowbiz - It is official, Noel Gallagher has walked out of Oasis. In a statement posted on the band's official website, he said, "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

Before Noel walked out of the band, the guitarist and his brother/bandmate Liam Gallagher were involved in a fight at Rock en Seine festival in Paris, according to singer Amy MacDonald who was at the venue when the incident happened. "Oasis cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight," she wrote on her Twitter.

Following the split, Oasis called off their scheduled performances in several major events in Europe. "Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan," Noel concluded his announcement.

In regard of Noel's exit, the band's spokesperson commented, "We are all just so sad that it has come to an end." Oasis' internal rift between Noel and Liam Gallagher has emerged earlier this year. At that time, Noel said he's fed up with his brother because "he's rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy."
