Jul 21, 2008Entertaining though really quite ridiculous. The set pieces are very entertaining and very well shot but the action is very Matrix style only without the plausible justification for it. Worth a watch if you can overlook the silly bits and just absorb the awesome action. The Mystic Murder Loom for example is a shining example of the ridiculousness of the film. It predicts targets in binary code, it's such a ridiculous premise they never even bother to try and explain it, we're just told it's "fate" and that's that! If you can cope with that kind of weak story telling tho it's a good 2 hours of shallow entertainment!

Jun 28, 2008An intelligent action movie with a twist. Action scenes are great and not intrusive, story is not silly, violence has a meaning and is not for a heck of it, humor is not silly either. Even touches some existential issues. I like it also for its funny but not extremely obvious references to other movies. Matrix, Star Wars and many others.
