An Antarctic island-set horror/psychological thriller, it adapts Albert Sanchez Pinol's bestselling Spanish novel of the same title. The story involves a young Irishman (Ray Stevenson) who sails off to take on the yearlong role of a weather observer, alone on an island near the Antarctic Circle. Upon arriving, he soon learns he is not alone and must defend himself against the creatures who inhabit the island.
