The comedy series creator calls the edited footage from a March 17 episode, which suggests the show predicted the attack, 'abhorrent.'

In the wake of Boston Marathon bombings, a "Family Guy" clip surfaced online suggesting that the show predicted the attack. The footage, which has been confirmed as an Internet hoax, mashes up unrelated scenes from a March 17 episode of the FOX animated series to make it as if the show depicted the bombings.

Responding to the senseless act, series creator Seth Macfarlane took to Twitter to condemn it. "The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent," he wrote on Tuesday, April 16. "The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims."

The fake clip features Peter Griffin being asked by Bob Costas how he won the Boston Marathon. The following scene shows Peter accidentally blowing up a bridge by dialing a terrorist's cell phone.

The episode titled "Turban Cowboy", which was used to create the Internet hoax, has now been removed from Fox.com and Hulu by the network. A Fox source says the network has no plan to air it again.
