The Promise is a 2016 Armenian-American historical drama film directed by Terry George and written by Robin Swicord. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon, Christian Bale, and James Cromwell. The film is set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire and tells the story of a love triangle between an Armenian medical student, a Turkish diplomat, and an American journalist. The film was released in the United States on April 21, 2017.
