It is the tenth installment in the X-Men film series and the third and final installment in the Wolverine trilogy. The film is directed by James Mangold and written by Scott Frank, Mangold, and Michael Green. Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Logan/Wolverine, with Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, and Dafne Keen also starring. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 3, 2017. The first trailer for the film was released on October 20, 2016. It shows Logan living in a dystopian future where mutants are nearly extinct. He is tasked with protecting a young mutant girl named Laura from a dark force that seeks to destroy her.
