"Suicide Squad" is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name. The film is directed by David Ayer, written by Ayer and John Ostrander from a story by Ayer, and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Ike Barinholtz, and Viola Davis.
The film is scheduled for release in the United States on August 5, 2016. In the film, a secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency. The film's TV spot, titled "We Need Them," features the team of supervillains being assembled and trained for their mission. The spot also includes a brief glimpse of the team in action, as they battle against a group of armed guards.
