Behind-the-Scenes Video of 'Weeds' Season 5
May 23, 2009 11:05:00Showtime has released a behind-the-scenes featurette of "Weeds" which will soon enter the 5th season on June 8. The footage contains scenes from the first episode, called "Wonderful Wonderful", where Nancy is dealing with the discovery of her pregnancy with Tijuana mayor Esteban's baby.
It was previously reported that Alanis Morissette will play Dr. Audra Kitson who is a "no-nonsense" clinical obstetrician treating Nancy's pregnancy. The character will play a major part in the new season for the singer was scheduled to appear in 7 out of the 13 episodes ordered.

Alanis Morissette May Go Nude in 'Weeds' Guest Stint
May 13, 2009 04:05:58It has been confirmed that singer Alanis Morissette will be part of a story arc in Showtime's "Weeds". At the end of the fourth season, Nancy Botwin is surprisingly pregnant with Tijuana mayor Esteban's baby and Alanis' character will have close bond with the story line.
Alanis plays Dr. Audra Kitson who is a "no-nonsense" clinical obstetrician treating Nancy's pregnancy. The character is a large part of the fifth season since she will appear in at least 7 out of the 13 ordered episodes. Furthermore, sources are saying that the acting stint may require Alanis to do "tasteful nudity" as part of her pursuit for Justin Kirk's character, Andy.

Mary-Louise Parker May Leave 'Weeds' After 6th Season
April 18, 2009 10:04:22There is a chance that Mary-Louise Parker will not return for a seventh season of "Weeds". NY Post is reporting that the lead actress of the Showtime series is looking forward to quit the show once the sixth season ends.
The show is currently in hiatus to welcome the fifth season in June. Showtime has ordered both fifth and sixth season for 13 episodes each. However, it could as well end in the sixth as an insider was quoted as saying that there would be no point in continuing without Parker. "We'd have to see if it made sense to continue, but we can't envision the show without her," said the insider.
