Nancy had apparently married Rabbi David Bloom and he adopted Stevie, but she became a widow for the second time after Bloom died in a car accident. She owned 51 percent of The Good Seed, a successful chain of legalized marijuana cafes that Starbucks wanted to buy. Doug was Nancy's business partner.

It's not long before she meets Guillermo, who points a gun to her. Meanwhile, Nancy gets emotional as Andy says he won't return to Connecticut with her.

In anticipation of "" upcoming return, Showtime debuts another promo video for the eighth and final season of the show. It highlights the shooting that took place at the very end of the seventh season finale, but still doesn't reveal who got the bullet.

The snippet, however, sees paramedics treating someone unseen who is being carried on a stretcher. Back at Nancy's backyard, cops are chasing the suspect who is only seen from behind, while an elderly couple who are Nancy's neighbors watch it.

Showtime says no more "" past the upcoming eighth season. The cable network admits to owing the pot comedy and "" for "cutting-edge original programming" that made it a stand-out among the crowd, therefore they want to give "Weeds" a proper send-off this summer.

"How they get brought home is really important," said Showtime entertainment president David Nevins. "In this case, both for the sake of the two women behind the show [creator Jenji Kohan and lead star ] and an audience that's really invested in the show. TV fans love nothing better than to complain about how shows end and we really want to end this one the right way."

It's still months away from the return date of "", but Showtime has debuted a teaser for the upcoming eighth season. Not sharing any new footage, the video is made to wish a "happy 4/20", a term closely related to cannabis subculture as well as the show's plot.

In it, the likes of Doug, Silas and Shane are looking ecstatic while being surrounded by floating money and leaves. Nancy, meanwhile, does not appear until the end of the video in which she gives a mysterious gaze.

Showtime has picked up its highest-rated comedy show "" for an eighth season after hanging the fate up in the air for more than a month. The cable network orders 13 episodes for the upcoming season which will likely begin the production in the first half of 2012.

Season 7 of the Emmy-winning series, which ended in last September, averaged 720,000 viewers. It saw 's Nancy reuniting with the Botwin clan after serving her time in jail for a murder her son Shane committed.

Picking up three years after the last episode of season 6, the story will see Nancy getting out of prison to serve the rest of her sentence in a New York City halfway house.

The guys spend the years in Copenhagen where time has brought changes to their lives. In the preview video which is unleashed via Zap2it, it can be seen that Andy has a bigger plan which involves running a country, Silas has become a glamorous male model, while Shane tries to avoid having his own baby.

The last time "" fans saw of Nancy Botwin, she was confessing to the murder of Pilar. The mother of three gave herself up to the cops in order to protect her son Shane who traveled with Andy, Silas and Mr. Schiff to Copenhagen for safety. Though she appears to pull the last string this time, the preview of season 7 shows that Nancy is still good-spirited.

The new season begins June 27. TV Line also acquires a sneak peek clip in which Nancy's life behind bars is set to begin. There in jail, Nancy is to share a cell with a scheming Russian-American hottie by the name of Roya who has an "easy-on-the-eyes" brother named Demetri visiting her every now and then.

"" wrapped up its sixth season this Monday, November 15 with a shocking twist and some cliffhangers. Creator Jenji Kohan talked to TV Guide of how the show will get from there and one particular answer strikes out. The show is going to end next year, if Kohan has the sole say.

"In my mind, it is," Kohan revealed. "Everyone's contract is up next year, [including] the actors and mine. Seven years is a good run, and I'd rather leave while on top. I'd never say never, but I have a feeling this might be it." The finale's rating was up 0.1 from the previous week with adults 18-49.

More to expect from the new season of "" are compiled in a new trailer clocking at 3 minutes. It begins with the reason why the Botwins are turning into the Newmans and running for their life. In the end of season 5, Shane hit Pilar with a croquet mallet, killing her instantly.

It turns out Doug, who has no knowledge that Nancy and the family have run away, takes the fall by being tortured by Esteban's men. Andy, Silas and Nancy take regular jobs as a dishwasher, doorman and cleaning service respectively in a hotel but Nancy finds a network that would get her back to the weeds business.

'Weeds' Brings Back Nancy's Sister and Doctor

Two characters on "" are due to be back for the sixth season. and have signed on to reprise their roles as Nancy's older sister Jill and Nancy's obstetrician Dr. Audra Kitson when the show returns August 16.

Both Jill and Audra happen to have something in common, Andy. The former once slept with the brother in law of Nancy and the latter dated him. No clue yet how they would fuse themselves in the new season's storyline. The end of last season saw Nancy and her entourage fleeing after Shane struck Pilar with a croquet mallet.

Showtime unleashes the first promo of "" in which a storyline can be derived from. It is a symbolical move by Nancy who buries everything associated to Esteban; passport, gun, and a mobile phone. These three are buried along with the Jesus bobble head that the mafia's men gave her in season 4.

The last time viewers see of the Botwins, they were on the run because Shane smacked Pilar on the head. Not much is known what the sixth season would deal with because the synopsis is yet to be released. But for one thing, two new characters are coming to town and Celia will no longer be in the picture by the end of the season.

There is a chance that will not return for a seventh season of "". NY Post is reporting that the lead actress of the Showtime series is looking forward to quit the show once the sixth season ends.

The show is currently in hiatus to welcome the fifth season in June. Showtime has ordered both fifth and sixth season for 13 episodes each. However, it could as well end in the sixth as an insider was quoted as saying that there would be no point in continuing without Parker. "We'd have to see if it made sense to continue, but we can't envision the show without her," said the insider.
