Three groups were eliminated after the first round, leaving The Exchange, The Melodores and Traces in the competition. Performing last in the second round, The Melodores wowed the judges with their cover of 's "Take Me to Church".

"" is returning for a fifth season on NBC. The a cappella competition show from Sony Pictures Television and Mark Burnett's One Three Media has been renewed and will be part of a holiday event broadcast.

Auditions for the new season are currently underway. The number of episodes and air date pattern are unknown at this time but the fourth season aired as a five-night strip. The show was previously out of NBC's schedule for almost a year and a half after the third season but it was brought back for another round in 2013.


Home Free Wins Fourth Season of 'The Sing-Off'

NBC's revived reality singing competition "" has crowned its fourth season winner during a two-hour finale on Monday, December 23 night. Country a cappella group Home Free beat the other two finalists; high schoolers Vocal Rush and gospel collective Ten.

As the winner, Home Free, which is comprised of Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Chris Rupp, Tim Foust and Adam Rupp, takes home $100,000 prize and a recording contract with Sony Music. They will also be center stage at the "The Sing-Off" first-ever national tour.

The Peacock has agreed to bring it back after the show wrapped up its third-season run in November 2011 to modest ratings. Producer Deke Sharon confirmed the news himself, saying, "I am happily able to confirm that casting is going on. The show is back!"

Confirmation of the show's return can also be seen in its official website. With a big banner that reads, "The Ultimate A Capella Competition Returns to NBC", the site displays official audition schedule, listing four cities including Chicago, Nashville, L.A. and New York.

"" season 2 ended with Committed being crowned the new winner. The six-man group from Alabama beat out Street Corner Symphony for the title on Monday, December 20 finale, taking home $100,000 in cash and a recording contract with Sony Music.

"We owe all this to God and our friends and family," Therry Thomas, lead vocalist for the group said, adding they would start touring soon. Host had a difficulty in breaking them from hugging the runner up and received the trophy. He said later, "Savor this moment."
