'Parenthood' Season 4 Premiere Clip: Ray Romano Gives Lauren Graham a Job

Sarah's first encounter with Hank Rizzoli is highlighted in a new clip for "Parenthood" season 4 premiere. In it, Lauren Graham's alter ego sees a "Help Wanted" sign in front of his office and applies to be an assistant to the photographer, who is portrayed by Ray Romano.

Sarah claims she knows a thing or two about camera and photography, so Hank decides to give her a try. Executive producer Jason Katims recently revealed that the job would cause a trouble between Sarah and her younger boyfriend Mark. "Sarah relates to Hank in ways she can't to Mark," he spilled.

Ray Romano has signed on for "Parenthood". The voice cast member of "Ice Age" film franchise scores a multi-episode arc on the family comedy series, playing "a photographer and former photo journalist who befriends Sarah (Lauren Graham) and complicates her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter)."

The lead actor of "Everybody Loves Raymond" will make his first appearance in the season 4 premiere of the Peter Krause-starring series. The show itself is slated to return with all-new episodes starting Tuesday, September 11 at 10 P.M. ET.

The Bravermans are going to have a road trip when "Parenthood" returns with a new episode this January, but not before a drama erupts at home. In a clip from the upcoming outing, Max lashes out at his mother Monica who turns off his video game after he ignores her repeated requests to shut it down.

Upset that his mom wastes his efforts to reach a certain level in the game, Max calls Monika "such a b***h". She punishes him by banning him from participating in the family trip to visit Zeek's mother.

Adam and Kristina use questionable tactics to find out about Haddie's secret relationship. In the upcoming episode of "Parenthood", the parents are curious about their daughter so they hacked into her computer to find out.

Monica Potter who plays Kristina said in an interview that she was not even sure how to play a mom on the drama series. "I said, I don't know if I can play a parent on TV," the actress who is also a real-life mom said. "I don't know how to do this. And then, I was like, am I an idiot?"

Shelved for a whole season to accommodate cast change, "Parenthood" was finally premiered on March 2. The drama series originally starring Maura Tierney before she dropped out due to health reasons, will be occupying the Tuesdays slot on NBC.

In the follow up to the pilot, Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina (Monica Potter) come to terms with the fact that their son may have Asperger's Syndrome. Sarah (Lauren Graham) is on the job hunt and Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) pushes her to dream big. Meanwhile, Crosby (Dax Shepard) bonds with his newly discovered son and Julia (Erika Christensen) deals with an aggravating mom from Sydney's (Savannah Paige Rae) school.

Done Deal, Lauren Graham On Board 'Parenthood'

Lauren Graham returns to television as a mom. The "Gilmore Girls" alumna is officially joining "Parenthood" after previously was claimed to be in talks for a role left by Maura Tierney. In the new drama series, Graham will once again tackle the role as a single mother of a teenage daughter.

Tierney dropped out of the project earlier this year after finding out that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Delaying its production, NBC put "Mercy" in place of "Parenthood" this Fall to give Tierney time to recuperate from the treatment. However, in early September, NBC released a formal announcement that Tierney was out of the project for good. Shortly after, there were talks with Helen Hunt to fill the vacant position but they didn't come out with positive result.

Helen Hunt May Replace Maura Tierney on 'Parenthood'

There have been some considerations that Helen Hunt should replace Maura Tierney on "Parenthood". NBC, according to THR, has approached the feature film star to join the series and Hunt is said to be weighing on the offer.

Hunt is supposed to take over Tierney's Sarah, one of the four Braverman siblings that become the center of attention on the series. She is a financially-challenged single mother who returns home to her parents and siblings in Berkeley, Calif. The other siblings are played by Peter Krause, Erika Christensen and Dax Shepard.

'Parenthood' Replaced by 'Mercy' in Fall

NBC is rooting for its star to heal first before coming back to work. "Parenthood", one of the new series that the Peacock offers this Fall, has been shelved for midseason premiere in order to give Maura Tierney time to recuperate from an undisclosed illness.

"Start of production on NBC Universal's new series 'Parenthood' has been postponed for eight weeks due to medical evaluation that valued cast member Maura Tierney is undergoing," NBC said in a statement released to THR. "The top priority for NBC, Universal Media Studios and Imagine Television is the well-being of Ms. Tierney. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time."
