NBC Officially Shuts Down 'The Munster' Reboot
December 28, 2012 10:12:14"Mockingbird Lane" is officially dead on NBC. Following months of speculations that the network passes on the project, writer Bryan Fuller confirmed it on Thursday, December 27 as posting on his Twitter page, "I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support."
Set to serve as a reboot to 1960s' "The Munsters", the fantasy comedy had Jerry O'Connell, Portia de Rossi, Eddie Izzard and Mason Cook in its cast ensemble. The production faced a setback earlier this year due to casting issue before the principal photography finally took place in summer.

The 'Munsters' Reboot Pilot to Air as Halloween Special
October 11, 2012 03:10:21"Mockingbird Lane" pilot could see the light of the day after all. Amid rumor that NBC would not move forward with the project, the network reportedly decides to air the completed pilot of the "Munsters" reboot as a Halloween special.
The pricey pilot, which cost $10 million and was in development for two years, will air Friday, October 26 at 8 P.M., sources say. The Peacock, however, has not made any official statement regarding the fate of project.

Portia de Rossi Is Lily Munster on NBC's 'Mockingbird Lane'
June 13, 2012 11:06:40Another star has been cast as a member of the Munsters on Bryan Fuller's "Mockingbird Lane". Portia de Rossi is tapped to portray the family's matriarch Lily Munster on the NBC reboot of the 1960s fantasy comedy.
An Australia-born actress, Rossi is best known for her roles as lawyer Nelle Porter on "Ally McBeal" and Lindsay Bluth Funke on "Arrested Development". She recently landed a lead role in "The Smart One" pilot, which is executive produced by her own wife Ellen DeGeneres. However, ABC didn't order the comedy for fall.

Jerry O'Connell Is Herman Munster on 'Mockingbird Lane'
June 05, 2012 03:06:44Another actor has been added to the cast ensemble of "The Munsters" reboot. Jerry O'Connell, who is best known for his roles on sci-fi series "Sliders", has been tapped to portray Herman Munster on NBC's "Mockingbird Lane".
Beside O'Connell, Eddie Izzard and Mason Cook have been cast to join the upcoming show. The former will play the vampire Grandpa, while the latter will tackle the role of Eddie Munster who is Herman and Lily's werewolf son.
