This series centers on the 26th President of the United States, who served two terms from 1901-09. Taking office at age 42 after the assassination of President McKinley, Roosevelt remains the country's youngest POTUS. His progressive agenda included trust-busting, conservation and government regulation of such industries as drugs, food and railroads.

Known for his heroism as a member of the Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War of 1898, Roosevelt later would be known as a peacemaker. His efforts to end the war between Japan and Russia earned him the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize. He also launched U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' construction of the Panama Canal, which created a much faster shipping route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. And the iconic teddy bear was named after him.
