Jane Fonda Thinks 'The Kennedys' Pretty Good
April 06, 2011 10:04:52Veteran actress Jane Fonda has heaped praise on controversial new TV series "The Kennedys", insisting Katie Holmes did "really well" with her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy. The show, which stars Greg Kinnear as assassinated U.S. President John F. Kennedy and Holmes as his on-screen wife Jackie, hit headlines back in January when The History Channel bosses scrapped it from their broadcast schedule, citing the program as "not a fit for the History brand".
Subsequent reports suggested it was axed following pressure from surviving members of the clan, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who branded the show "historically inaccurate". However, chiefs at ReelzChannel snapped up the eight-part series and it debuted in America on Sunday, April 3.

More Political Intrigue Inside Second 'The Kennedys' Trailer
March 19, 2011 11:03:50Two weeks away from the premiere, Reelz Channel tries to lure audience and perhaps more advertiser to "The Kennedys" with the second trailer. Compared to the first one, the new trailer is faster in pace in order to emphasize on the intrigue that comes with ambitions, and is less in the drama.
The 8-part movie event, which has been controversial since it was completed under History Channel, chronicles joys and tragedies of the most influential family in the world including fraternal rivalries, mob associations, the drugs and the women. It gives hard light on the family's patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr. who is played by Academy Award nominee Tom Wilkinson.

'The Kennedys' Having Difficulties in Landing Sponsors
March 14, 2011 10:03:14ReelzChannel may have saved "The Kennedys" from death but it is facing its own woes. The cable's head Stan Hubbard revealed, "Advertisers are scared to death of this. They told us point blank, 'It's too politically hot'." The controversial miniseries is three weeks away from its April 3 premiere.
ReelzChannel picked up "Kennedys" after History channel dumped it for the reason it is "not a fit for the History brand" and too "dramatic". First offered for syndication deal, the 8-part miniseries about the assassinated former U.S. president and his family was picked up by ReelzChannel in January.

'The Kennedys' Finds Home at ReelzChannel
February 02, 2011 02:02:37Katie Holmes' "The Kennedys" mini-series has found a U.S. home after bosses at the History Channel axed the project. TV chiefs opted not to run the $30 million series about the political dynasty last month, insisting the finished product was not "a fit" for the History Channel.
Politician Robert F. Kennedy waded into the controversy, insisting the series was historically inaccurate. Producers have been trying to find a new home for the project and now it looks as if cable network bosses at ReelzChannel have come to the rescue. They hope to premiere the series on April 3. Holmes portrays Jackie Kennedy in the project, while Greg Kinnear plays doomed President John F. Kennedy.

Syndication Deal May Save 'The Kennedys'
January 31, 2011 02:01:08Producers are still trying hard to get "The Kennedys" to the eyes of public and the latest network they visited was Tribune Broadcasting. The controversial miniseries which was axed by History channel before its pilot even aired, would possibly take an unconventional route with the syndication deal.
"Kennedys", starring Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes, is an 8-hour project which History claimed unfit for its channel. But rumor has it, the network received political pressure from the Kennedy family although producers said they have consulted historians and made some adjustments to meet both's ends.

Greg Kinnear: 'The Kennedys' Was Done With Great Care
January 26, 2011 02:01:20Movie star Greg Kinnear has responded to remarks made by politician Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. suggesting the TV adaptation of his family's story, which features the actor, was historically inaccurate. Executives at America's The History Channel have scrapped plans to air the project, in which Kinnear plays assassinated John F. Kennedy, claiming the finished product wasn't a "fit" for the network.
Producers are now scrambling to find a U.S. home for the series and Kinnear insists he's proud of the project. He tells Access Hollywood, "It's unfortunate. We had an extraordinary, great group behind the show and it was done with great care and sensitivity and The History Channel, for whatever reason, got into the hot box on that. We're hoping it finds a home. I'm not sure what its status is right now."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Caroline, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver, the daughter of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, fought to have the project "killed".

Katie Holmes Filmed Kennedy's Assassination Scene
August 23, 2010 11:08:58Katie Holmes helped Americans to re-enact the tragedy of U.S. President John F. Kennedy's assassination on Friday, August 20 when the actress put on Jackie O's famous pink suit. The filming of miniseries "The Kennedys" has reached the climax scene in Toronto, recreating the shooting that took place in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963.
In a series of on-set photos, Holmes is seen with a suit and pillbox hat that the First Lady wore during the tragedy. She was filming alongside Greg Kinnear who portrays the last President. Together, the actors descended the plane and got ready to hop on the convertible that would later be the last place Kennedy was seen conscious.
