'Lost' Alum Zuleikha Robinson Joins 'The Following' as Series Regular

Zuleikha Robinson has landed a role on FOX's "" as a series regular, a rep for the show confirms to Deadline. Robinson will join the drama as a new girlfriend of FBI Agent Ryan Hardy when it returns for season three.

Robinson will play Gwen, an ER doctor who is also a mother of a 7-year-old girl. She will be Hardy's first real chance at a family and true happiness. "She's a doctor. We are living together. And she has a daughter. Ryan is trying some domesticity," said when the cast and producers of the show discussed Robinson's role at Comic-Con.

FOX Renews 'The Following', 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and Two Other Comedies

FOX has renewed four of its shows. On Friday, March 7, the network announced early renewals for sophomore drama "" and three comedies, "", "" and "".

"These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera," Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company, say in a joint statement. "All four are core assets within our 2014-15 portfolio of content, and we're really happy to bring them back to our FOX fans for another season."

FOX has launched Joe Carroll's resurrection campaign as another hint at the serial killer's fate was revealed in the second episode of "" season 2. Following the January 27 outing, the show's Facebook page posted a picture of a phone number written on a piece of paper to be spread to Joe's followers.

The number, (917) 829-4091, is indeed existing and those who decide to call it will hear a message from 's Joe. "Hello friend. If you've called this number, you must be a follower. I'm sorry to have been gone so long," he says in the voicemail. "Your loyalty and dedication means everything to me. This time I won't disappoint. The resurrection is coming. Be ready."

FOX released an extended preview to the second season of "", including commentaries from cast and as well as executive producer Kevin Williamson. The new season jumps a year after the cliffhanger finale where brutal showdown with Ryan Hardy resulted in the supposed death of Joe Carroll.

Season 2 opens with a murder on subway and the FBI suspecting the work of either Carroll or his followers. Ryan has recovered from the tragedy and leads a life as a teacher but is forced to assist the FBI when the murder points to his worst enemy. "Ryan is trying to get the pieces back together but he can't get away from Joe Carroll and Joe's cult," Williamson explained.

More details about the upcoming season 2 of "" have been shared by series creator Kevin Williamson. According to the screenwriter, Ryan starts his life anew in the aftermath of the first season finale, but he's apparently still obsessed with Joe and his cult.

The new season takes place 2 years after the events in the first season. Ryan is now teaching, sober, and no longer involved in law enforcement in any capacity. "Ryan's actually trying to put the pieces back together but he can't get away from Joe Carroll and Joe's cult," Williamson dishes.

Making their way out via EW.com, one of the videos teases the reveal of a new face of evil with a shot of a melting Poe mask. The second promo has an image of a fiery shape of a bird and features a tagline which reads, "The next chapter will change everything."

Flame was indeed a big part in the season 1 finale of the thriller series as the antagonist, Joe Carroll, was seen being engulfed in flames after a showdown with FBI Agent Ryan Hardy. Despite the incident that could hint at the villain's deadly fate, who plays Carroll is confirmed to return in the second installment. The actor, however, played coy when asked about the future of his character, saying that he signed up for season 2, but "that's not a guarantee."
