"Welcome to the future, Chad. Our future. Man and Visitor. This is Concordia." These are Anna's words as she tries to sell our favorite newsman on a venture that'll create a harmonious coexistence. It's a worldwide urban renewal project, creating jobs and prosperity. Anna's hosting a gala to announce her plans. Of course, those plans also include creating landing sites around the globe in preparation for an invasion and breeding.

Erica seeks help from her ex, Joe, regarding Tyler, who is celebrating his 18th birthday. They encourage their son to embark on a cross-country motorcycle trip. His family will be there for him when he returns. Ty is giving it serious consideration, but he's yet to receive Anna's b-day gift. She introduces Tyler to her chief engineer, Thomas, who asks the birthday boy if he'd like to be the first human to pilot a V shuttle. And those things can cruise across the country a lot faster than a motorcycle.

Ryan has a secret meeting with Eli Cohn, who wants help with his plan to assassinate Anna. Hobbes is all for it, but Erica and Jack are initially reluctant to sign off on all the collateral damage associated with his plan. But now that Anna has accelerated her plans for Tyler, Erica wants sharpshooter Hobbes to take out the V queen without anyone else getting hurt. Jack is asked to defy Vatican orders to cause a distraction so Erica can sneak Hobbes past the security perimeter. Eli Cohn's team will also help.

The top dogs at Chad Decker's network hire a woman named Carrie to provide some point/counterpoint action regarding the Visitors. The woman is clearly suspicious of the V's, as evidenced by her off-the-record question to Anna at the party. Speaking of the party, the assassination plot unfolds without a hitch as Hobbes and Cohn set up shop. Only Ryan seems unsure of what they are doing, as he realizes that only Anna can cure his daughter's pain with her Bliss.

As Anna makes her way to the stage, Marcus convinces her to step to the side so that he may take her place. Why? Well, Ryan tipped off the Visitors that an assassin has infiltrated the bash. Hobbes and Cohn no longer have a shot at Anna. They can still take out Marcus, but that'll have to wait because Tyler just took to the stage. Erica manages to move him out of the line of fire. BANG! Anna's right-hand man is gunned down.

Erica and Anna locked eyes as Marcus is quickly loaded onto a shuttle. He's alive, but in critical condition. Despite this setback, Concordia must move forward. Anna asks Thomas to be her go-to guy from here on out. His first order of business is relaying the bad news that Tyler won't be accepting the shuttle job. Anna says Tyler is important, but he's not their only option. There are others out there.

Tyler is happy to be home celebrating his birthday with both his folks by his side. Joe also seems to be pleased with the scene. Back at the FBI headquarters, Bolling suspects the shooting was part of a coordinated effort that may have involved one of their own. He show Kendrick a surveillance photo of Erica with Father Jack that was taken earlier in the day. He believes Jack was the distraction and Erica was the inside operative. Bolling wants to launch a formal investigation.

The repercussions of the day's events continue to unfold. Father Jack knows that because of his actions he may never wear the collar again. Hobbes and Cohn realize that there's only person, make that one lizard, who could have tipped off Anna about their plan. Speaking of Ryan, he tells Anna that he'll give her whatever and whoever she wants. He just wants her to give his child another shot of Bliss. She does. With that, Ryan says, "Thank you, my queen."
