Big Jim (Dean Norris) appoints himself the new sheriff of Chester's Mill and goes to see Rebecca (Karla Crome), apologizing for his recent behavior. In Zenith, Barbie (Mike Vogel) and his father Don (Brett Cullen) discuss getting to the Dome. Don offers to send an email to Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) on Barbie's behalf instead; the military will allow his message through the WiFi firewall. Barbie's note mentions a "leap of faith" -- and he asks that it's sent to Joe (Colin Ford). Joe and Norrie (Mackenzie Lintz) are about to shoot a video blog when the WiFi signal reappears. The pair finds Julia and Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox) and shows them Barbie's email -- which, strangely, now mentions the egg! Julia is skeptical; does it really prove Barbie's alive? Sam (Eddie Cahill) and Pauline (Sherry Stringfield) debate what to do with hospitalized Lyle (Dwight Yoakam). Pauline wants him to get a certain medication, even though his doctors don't. Is Sam willing to help? Barbie goes to the playground where he first "appeared" in Zenith and notices a surveillance camera. Watching him via said camera is a young guy, sitting at a bank of computers. He seems to recognize Barbie ... and through some fancy facial recognition, confirms his suspicions.

Later, the computer whiz follows Barbie through town. Barbie realizes he's being tailed and confronts the guy, who somehow knows Barbie's biography, down to him having escaped the Dome. He even knows about the email to Julia -- and that Don doctored its contents! Julia and the teens decide to throw a note over the tunnel's cliff -- with a message only Barbie would understand. Pauline swipes a nurse's ID card so Sam can steal the meds for Lyle. Junior (Alexander Koch) and Big Jim receive a radio call from Rebecca; someone has torn Big Jim's windmill down. Barbie sneaks into Don's office, at the urging of the computer whiz-kid. Over Bluetooth, the kid guides him through accessing Don's files -- but not before revealing he's actually the one behind the "HoundsofDiana" website. Sure enough, Barbie sees the email, doctored to ask Julia to "bring the egg" with her. But why? Suddenly, Don walks in; Barbie stalls, and the kid manages to erase all traces of his hacking -- but not before seeing pictures of Barbie and Julia together under the Dome!

Another call on the Chester's Mill police scanner reveals there's a fire -- Rebecca, Junior, and Big Jim find Andrea on the side of the road, and her car is engulfed. Its location is suspicious; it's under a billboard for Big Jim's dealership. Big Jim thinks it's all a sign -- so the trio decides to track down folks who might have a vendetta against him. In Zenith, Don takes Barbie to Aktaion headquarters; initially, they'd been asked to monitor the Dome's radiation levels -- but they'd also figured out how to get a WiFi signal through. Don introduces Barbie to Hunter (Max Ehrich) -- it's the computer whiz from earlier! Turns out, Hunter had hacked into Aktaion's computers years earlier, but now he's on the payroll. Don has Hunter send another email from Barbie to Julia; this time, Barbie makes sure the message is all his. And just as Julia's about to throw her note over the cliff, the email hits Joe's phone. Barbie signed it "your stray" -- Julia's name for him -- but all other info points to them meeting at the Dome's edge. Sam manages to inject Lyle with the medication and waits for the results. Barbie convinces Hunter to help him get to the Dome; Hunter agrees, admitting he knows Aktaion isn't telling the truth. Hunter's computer magic works, and Barbie gets through the Dome's militarized checkpoint.

Lyle comes to, but initially fails to offer any help; however, Pauline recalls there was one more postcard she hadn't yet sent him, and it features a red door. It could be the answer to accessing Chester's Mill! Back at the station, Big Jim is knocked out cold ... by a drunk Phil (Nicholas Strong). He handcuffs Big Jim to a cell and blames him for his brush with death; luckily, Rebecca and Junior find them before Phil can inflict real damage. Julia waits at the Dome's edge for Barbie, who finally appears -- but he's being pursued! He manages to write a message on the Dome: "Not safe out here." He also writes, "Don't j..." -- but before he can finish the word "jump," he's violently taken into custody. From a distance, Big Jim watches the scene through binoculars. How is Barbie alive?!
