Amanda is shocked to realize that Betty has been dating Matt for a month and hasn't slept with him yet. "What the hell are you waiting for?" she asks. Betty confides to Hilda that she hopes "tonight is the night" and Hilda suggests she just tell Matt she's ready. "I've never had to do that," Betty admits. "With Walter and Henry, it just kind of happened." "Some guys need more of a push," advises Hilda, who's having her own doubts about dating "good guy" Archie.

When Betty suggests spending the night, Matt hustles her into a cab. "That guy couldn't get rid of you fast enough," the cab driver chuckles. Back in Queens, Hilda complains that Archie is "too into her," and Betty isn't in the mood to hear it. Hilda suggests maybe she was too subtle with Matt and Amanda also encourages her to be more forward. "I am going to personally teach you how to be sexy," Amanda says, promising to show Betty some of her "no-fail" moves.

Wilhelmina thinks she hears Connor singing to her, but it's just a dream. She hasn't slept in weeks, she reveals to Marc after he catches her napping with her eyes open. He realizes what the problem is when he finds a picture of Connor on her desk. She wants him to hire a night nanny, so he finds a gorgeous former male MODEl for the job, hoping it'll help her "get her groove back."

Daniel wants MODE's first "sex issue" to do boffo newsstand sales and asks the staff to make sure everyone's talking about the issue. Molly signs up for a poetry slam. Daniel invites everyone at MODE but after Betty points out the sexual undertones that he'd missed in the poem Molly plans to read -- and that it's about the two of them -- Daniel asks her not to read it in front of people he works with.

Marc and Amanda have two hours to "sexify" Betty before Matt arrives for their next date. They show her how to do seductive moves like flipping her hair. Betty greets Matt in sexy black silk pajamas. He tells her she looks great, but she needs to get dressed if they're going to make the movie they'd planned on seeing. She tries to convince him to stay but he bolts from the apartment, saying, "I'm sorry, it's not you, it's me."

Archie and Hilda's date is interrupted by a visit from Felicity, an ex of his, who can't stop mentioning what a mistake she made in letting Archie get away. Hilda realizes she's jealous and has sex with Archie at the salon. She admits she was about to break up with him until the ex stopped by. Archie takes offense and leaves.

Marc and Amanda can't believe the moves they taught Betty didn't work on Matt. "Oh my God, he's gay! Or a virgin!" exclaims Marc. They encourage Betty to confront Matt at work. Matt had texted her that he's working through lunch, but they see him leaving his office building. Marc and Amanda decide to tail him and Betty has no choice but to follow them.

Matt greets a blonde woman with a hug and Betty accidentally reveals her presence. The woman introduces herself as Helen, his therapist, and invites Betty to join them in a session. Matt assures her he's attracted to her and the problem isn't that he's a virgin. "I've been with women. A lot. Really a lot," he says, admitting to having slept with "hundreds of women." After so much meaningless sex, he and his therapist came up with a contract that wouldn't let him sleep with anyone until he connected with them first. "I met you and I started having all these feelings. When the sex came up, I just panicked." He says he's calm now but Betty feels strange knowing he's been with so many women.

Betty tells Daniel that he should let Molly read her poem. "She's dying and she wrote a poem about how much she loves you. She's brave enough to read it, you should be brave enough to let her."

Hilda calls Archie to apologize, but it's Felicity who comes to the salon. She orders Hilda to leave Archie alone because she wants him back. Archie catches them in the middle of a huge cat fight. He admits he loved having two women fight over him and assures Hilda that he's not always such a nice guy. "I know," she says.

Wilhelmina decides to put the moves on James, the manny, but when he sings the same lullaby to the baby that Connor did, she bursts into tears. She spills the whole story to James, who gives her a shoulder to cry on. When she says all she needs to feel better is sex, he suggests she should settle her issues with Connor. "You're right," she says and fires him. The next day, she hires an investigator to find Connor, "wherever he is."

At the poetry slam, Daniel tells Molly he'd be honored if she read the poem. A woman at another table waves to Matt and Betty begins imagining numbers on all the women's shirts in the bar, as if they're all former conquests of his.

Matt invites Betty to stay the night, but she wants to go home, saying she feels like just a number to him. "This would be the first time with someone I really care about. So, technically, you are my first," he tells her. He leads a reluctant Betty into his apartment.

The sex issue of MODE bombs, forcing Wilhelmina and Daniel to take desperate measures. Daniel shows Betty a confidential file marked, "Personnel Downsize Plan."
