Betty's family has to come up with $15,000 or they'll get evicted from their home. Daniel and Wilhelmina make a plea to get a government bailout. Steve Schirripa of The Sopranos guest stars.Daniel breaks the news to Claire and Wilhelmina that their insurance won't cover Connor's theft. Claire has a plan. A government panel is in New York to consider a bailout of the print media industry. This could be the answer to their financial woes. They just have to convince the panel that they are broke.Claire warns Wilhelmina to rethink her wardrobe. "Gonna have a little trouble convincing them you need money when you're wearing mink," she says. Wilhelmina fires back, "It's not mink darling. It's chinchilla." Claire snaps back, "Whatever. You look like a rich bitch." Go Claire!Betty and Matt go back to the Suarez house after dinner - BTW he forgot to his wallet again. Hilda teases Betty about paying for dinner. The guy is supposed to pay. But Betty doesn't mind. Justin runs in screaming. He found an eviction notice. They need to vacate the house by the end of the month. This can't be right!The Suarez family begs their landlord to stay, but he's having financial troubles and needs to sell the house. The good news is that they have the option to buy the house. The bad news is they need $15,000 for the down payment but they only have $5,000. Where are they gonna get the money? Justin suggests Daniel but Betty refuses.Daniel and Wilhelmina present their plea to the government board asserting that fashion isn't just frivolous - the industry employs thousands in NYC. Plus, Wilhelmina mentions that she and Daniel are doing their part to cut back expenses by riding the bus. The board is interested and wants to reconvene to talk numbers. We're keeping our fingers crossed.Ignacio enters a TV cook-off with celebrity chef Frankie Burrata (Steve Schirripa). He's sure that his mole recipe will get him the $10,000 prize. In the middle of the live show, Ignacio's back goes out. Oh no! Frankie declares no time outs. Betty jumps in to finish. The judges are impressed. The winner is...Frankie?! What?! The Suarez family is crushed. How are they going to save their house now?Betty confides to Daniel about her family's house situation. He offers to help but Betty can't accept especially after Connor stole all the company money.Daniel and Wilhelmina are back before the government panel. The congressman holds up the front page of the NY Post showing Daniel and Wilhelmina drinking a $400 bottle of wine. "Shame on you," says the congressman. Daniel tries to explain that they used their personal money, but they don't buy it.Hilda runs into Mode screaming wildly. A $10,000 check was delivered to the house. YAY! That would have us screaming too. Betty thanks Daniel for the check. What check? He didn't send it. Who did?At dinner, Betty tells Matt about the mysterious check. He suggests she take the money. Surprise - Matt brought his wallet and is paying for dinner. As he signs the receipt, Betty notices that it's the same signature on the $10,000 check. Whoa, how does Matt have that much extra cash? His family is super rich. $10,000 is no big deal. Betty refuses to take the check, "I'm not your charity."
