Kenny, who has sprung into action as the producer on Molly's movie, calls to tell her Jolie Driver, the powerful talent agent who happens to be Zach's ex-wife, has read Molly's script and wants to have lunch with them to discuss some of her actresses. Over lunch later that day, Jolie tells Molly and Kenny that she thinks uber-actress Dana Field would be perfect for the lead role. Molly is thrilled until Jolie takes her aside to make sure that Molly wouldn't feel uncomfortable meeting Dana since Zach's affair with Dana was what ended his marriage to Jolie. Molly plays it cool in front of Jolie but inside she's upset: why hadn't Zach told her that important piece of information when they were swapping war stories about why their marriages broke up? Suddenly, the idea of Dana Field starring in her movie doesn't seem like such a great one to Molly. She is further unsettled when the Maitre D hands Molly an anonymous note saying, "Did you get my message last night?," which appears to be from the same person who Fed-Exed her a page ripped from her still-missing journal. But whoever has dropped off the note has vanished, leaving the identity of Molly's stalker unsolved, at least for now. Luckily, the engagement dinner Molly is planning for Lou and his French fiancee, Alizee, for later that evening becomes a welcome distraction.

Felix finally returns from location and has not only blown off seeing Lola, but also wants to go out with Rodney...in public! Rodney invites Felix to Molly's dinner party and much to Rodney's surprise, Felix agrees without hesitation.

That night, the engagement party ends up being a total disaster for almost everyone involved. Molly won't tell Zach why she's angry at him; Rodney has unexpectedly shown up with Felix, meaning Molly, Zach and Liz have to pretend that there's nothing going on other than a professional relationship between Rodney and the action star; and Liz, upset about her impending divorce from Devon, has just gone on a crazy spending spree with her husband's credit cards at the suggestion of her shark divorce attorney. Worst of all, when Molly meets Lou's fiancee, Molly suspects that Alizee isn't really a French-born beauty who ran her family's multi-million dollar perfume company. Molly is convinced that Alizee is actually Ann Hefton, her neighbor from years ago who grew up in Simi Valley. Then, when Felix hears that Lou is producing Othello, he excitedly launches into a strange and semi-embarrassing soliloquy to impress Lou, nearly suffocating Molly in the process. After everyone leaves-before dessert is even served-Molly tells Zach her suspicions about Alizee's real identity, but Zach chides her for being too judgmental. Offended, Molly sends Zach home so she can take care of Liz, who's about to go off the deep end.

When Liz meets Devon for lunch, Devon releases his fury at Liz for doing exactly what he told his lawyer he wouldn't do: go for the jugular. But when Liz says she knows about Campbell-a son Devon had as a result of a one-night stand sixteen years earlier-Devon softens. He tells Liz that he didn't find out about the boy until the child was three. He agreed to pay child support to the boy's mother and left it at that. So Liz offers to help him find out if his son is happy, which makes Devon reach for her hand with gratitude. They also bond over their shared (bad) opinion of their couples' therapist, who was more concerned with Devon's baseball stats than marital status. Just as the two are about to kiss, Devon gets a call: Monica, Campbell's mother, is in town and would like to meet them first before they get to see Campbell. When Devon asks Liz what she thinks, she responds, "The sooner, the better."

Meanwhile, contrary to his original wish, Rodney is not relishing his newfound quality time with Felix after Felix tells Rodney he has gone off of his bi-polar medication per Lola's suggestion. When Felix tell Rodney he has planned a press conference to come out of the closet, Rodney springs into action with Bo, who admits to knowing about Felix's secret relationship with Rodney, to lock Felix in the bathroom so he can't set a match to his career while he's not in his right mind.

Molly and Zach finally have a conversation over his lack of candor about his affair with Dana. But Zach doesn't feel like he was wrong for not telling Molly about it since it happened so long ago and has nothing to do with her. Molly disagrees, especially since Zach knows how much being cheated on was an issue in her marriage.

Molly goes to see Lou so she can tell him about Alizee's true identity and show him the picture Molly found of her and Ann Hefton. Lou is stunned. When Alizee/Ann arrives for her lunch date with Lou, Lou grabs Molly so that Alizee/Ann will see them locked in an embrace. Alizee/Ann runs off at first, but then comes back into Lou's office, tearfully explaining how the ruse began for her: not as a trap for Lou, but to help her get noticed and hired for acting gigs since no one wanted "boring Ann." But her love for Lou seems authentic and Lou forgives her when he realizes he loves the woman he does know, no matter what her background. After seeing Lou forgive Ann, Molly realizes that everyone has a past filled with baggage, but it's too late: Zach thinks it's time to move on since Molly no longer trusts him.

Later than night, Kenny surprises Molly (more like, scares the living daylights out of her) by letting himself into her house for a celebratory bottle of vodka and caviar: they have a "go picture!" Taking to heart Molly's hesitation about working with Dana Field, Kenny has removed the actress from the project so they can go low budget and have more creative control and more profit, even if it means a little less glitz-a plan Molly loves. They celebrate by getting trashed on shots of vodka. The pair dance around Molly's living room to a song Kenny wants to use in the movie. When they collapse on the couch, Kenny leans over and kisses Molly. And Molly...kisses him back.
