As the dormant battlefield springs to life, Scott reaches Chloe - but it's too late. She has sent a signal to the aliens, the very ones who captured her, giving away Destiny's position in an attempt to draw the heat of the drones off of Destiny and onto the newcomers. Despite her avowal, Scott, under orders from Young, takes her back to custody.

Meanwhile, Young, Eli and Rush attempt to block the signal from the command ship to the drones. If they can cease the drone fire, they can fire on the command ship and possibly end the battle. But they have to work fast, as the hits from the drones are weakening their shields further and further. Eli and Rush find the formula and the drones stop firing long enough for Destiny to strike a critical hit on the command ship. In the calm, the brainstorm on how to save themselves from the fire of the remaining alien ship. They know they won't be able to count on the Ursini, who got them into the battle to begin with, and with the shields as weak as they are, an FTL jump would be treacherous. To make matters worse, more drones are on the way, drawn by a failed call for backup from the Ursini.

Eli proposes bringing a dormant drone on board to study in an attempt to jam their signal permanently. Once done, Eli and Rush begin a diagnostic. But an even riskier ploy is happening at the same time: Rush, in an attempt to negotiate with the aliens, is offering them Chloe so that they can retrieve the alien part of her they're missing. She may divulge everything she has learned about Destiny, but if it will grant them safe passage - and if they can reverse Chloe's transformation - Rush, uncharacteristically, thinks it's worth it.

Scott successfully delivers Chloe, and jubilantly returns to Destiny with her, taking out a few drones on his way. Soon, the crew sees the Ursini seed ship pulling away from the battlefield and drawing the fire of the drones with it. Destiny receives a message from the Ursini - an apology for bringing Destiny into this fray - that makes it clear that the seed ship's maneuver is a suicide run. With a blip on a screen, they are gone. But Destiny is still under fire, and Eli, under pressure, manages to crack the code to the drone, making the drones believe that they, themselves, are the enemy. Destiny is safe, but they still must leave the battlefield - another wave of drones is surely on the way. The only trouble is that the shields are still only functioning at five percent.

Young takes decisive action and orders a jump - they have no other choice. His boldness rewards them: they are away and safe.

Chloe is recuperating well. She seems to be completely back to her old self, except for the fact that her equation solving powers are still prodigious. There's no clear explanation for the result, but she and Rush, now allies as well as friends, are cautiously optimistic, and even share a moment of healing.
