Sinbad and the gang are ashore, about to head their separate ways, when Anwar spots Basra guards. He, Rina and Nala stage a distraction, allowing Sinbad and Gunnar to escape, then head to the Providence, where they are captured by Taryn. Anwar lets slip that Sinbad is cursed by his grandmother. Taryn creates 'The Stalker', a magical creature, to track Sinbad down.
Sinbad starts a fight with the guards and is impressed by Gunnar's prowess, but Gunnar avoids answering how a trader has such skills, instead urging Sinbad to control his anger. Suddenly, they are surrounded and Gunnar is taken by masked Khaima, who dish out justice to those who have committed terrible crimes. Sinbad follows them and watches Gunnar denying any blame, claiming he is only a trader. But when the Khaima bring forth memories of his brutal Viking past, Gunnar admits his crimes and accepts his death sentence. As their leader Obsidian prepares to execute him, Sinbad attacks Obsidian. Obsidian gets the upper hand and is about to kill Sinbad, when the Stalker crashes into the camp. The Khaima can't destroy it so leave Sinbad to face it alone.
On the Providence, the others trick the guards and shake Taryn from her trance, but she warns them that the Stalker is now out of control. Gunnar persuades Obsidian to let him help Sinbad, promising to return for his execution. He encourages Sinbad to defeat the Stalker by mastering his own anger, which Sinbad does and the Stalker disintegrates. Impressed by Gunnar's bravery, Obsidian invites him to join the Khaima, but he decides his place is with Sinbad. They return to the ship, where Sinbad surprises the gang by letting Taryn go. Before Taryn leaves, she is astonished to learn that Sinbad has visions of the Land of the Dead. She departs, excited by this information.
