Karl posits that after the Big Bang, the Earth just hung around there for a while. Then, "the air created the greenness." Ricky asks him how life might have evolved on other planets, like Pluto, and Karl imagines its inhabitants would be hairy with big eyes. Karl decides to donate his sofa to the couchless, and recalls the difficulty in getting rid of his mattress because there was a "queue at the tip" (British for "a line at the garbage dump"). Karl visits Egypt, but is unimpressed with its ancient pyramids--"It's like they haven't moved on," he says. He was more struck by the lack of clean toilets.
